Hi there! Thanks for stopping by. Looking for the scoop about HomeSweetBiz.com and wondering if you can trust the information here? You're probably asking yourself, who is Kathi MacNaughton after all anyway, and what makes her think she's such an expert on online home business?

Well, let me reassure you... I don't consider myself an expert, but I am a seasoned Internet marketer and webmaster. After 10 years online, you might say I've been around the block. In fact, I have several successful websites that are earning me steady money every single month from advertising revenues, sales of my own products and affiliate links... Enough money that I don't have to work in a "real" job.
So, you see... I'm completely qualified to develop a site like this one, about starting a work at home business on the Web, because I own such a business myself. I've been on the Web since 2000, beginning with this site and progressing to a number of different niche sites. Some are content sites, and some sell a product.
I love variety and new challenges, so my home-based business includes all of the following, in varying degrees:
Freelance writing and blogging, both for myself and for others
Web business building consultation, specifically for SBI users
Selling my own digital products (software, ebooks)
Web design, both for myself and for hire
Content web sites on multiple niches, including motor scooters, resumes, careers, cooking, dogs and travel
Affiliate marketing
Network marketing (MLM)
So, you can see I have experience. But, I hear you asking, how successful have you really been? Are you just one of those internet marketers who tries to sell me "systems" but has never really succeeded at anything but selling such systems?
In a word... NO!
I know, I know... lots of people have tried one or more of the above home-based ventures... and failed. I won't lie to you...
I've failed a few times too. I've struggled with all of the same challenges every home business person has... balancing home and work life, information overload, dealing with scams, and so on.
But, I've also had some successes. No, I'm not an Internet millionaire... yet. But I plan to be! And I am well on my way, with my income increasing by leaps and bounds every single month. I've definitely learned what doesn't work... and what DOES... over the last 10 years.
So, I think you'll agree that I have something to offer most people who arrive at my site. I can give you my unique point of view, the benefit of my experience, and my down-to-earth, no judgment teaching approach.
Powerful-Sample-Resume-Formats.com. I took my years of experience in health care recruitment and created a content site about getting a job, including resume advice, cover letter tips and interview help. This is my most successful site to date. I created a similar, health career-focused site at Your-Healthcare-Career.com
Motor-Scooters-Guide.com. In 2007, I fell in love with motor scooters and bought one. In researching them, I realized there wasn't that much information on the Web about scooters, so I created a site to share what I learned. It's become quite a thriving community! And this website is my second biggest moneymaker.
Discover-Acadia.com. Longing to connect in a meaningful and fun way with my grown daughters who live thousands of miles away from me, I came up with the idea of creating a tourist guide to one of our favorite places in the whole world... Acadia National Park in Maine. Due to life getting in the way, it's taken us 3 years to completely build it and it's still a work in progress. But also a labor of love and it's earning a few bucks a month for each of us.
Thrown-Together-Meals.com. I love to cook and I love creating recipes. My husband kept encouraging me to parlay that into a recipe website and in 2008, I took him up on it! The site's still pretty new, as far as amount of content, but I love working on it!
Boston-Terrier-Pictures.com. If you've ever owned a BT, you know why I just had to build this website! I own one and I believe he is the cutest pup in the world. I built this site so other BT owners and lovers like me could share BT pictures, BT videos and BT stories. It's my newest site and still needs a lot of work. But I'm getting there.
Instant-Recipe-Cards.com. About 5 years ago, I bought a "make your own software" program (which really didn't involve any programming at all), and I created a little program that creates recipe cards. It was a simple, but unique at the time idea. I make a few sales every month of this software, despite not updating it in 4 years and doing nothing to publicize it. Talk about passive income! If I took more time to focus on updating it and publicizing it, I'm betting I could be making a lot more money.
Self-Defence-Technique.com. In early 2004, I bought a resale rights package from a guy. Most of the stuff wasn't that high a quality, but one product on self defense captured my imagination, since I am a black belt in karate and was also mugged in my college years. I put up a sales page website for this product and it's still selling to this day! Again, I don't do anything to publicize it. Another example of passive income and what you can do with resale rights. Again, there's untapped potential there, that I hope to tap into one day, when I have more time.
So, those are just a few examples of how I make my living on the Web. I have other sites too, using blogging, selling affiliate products, and even one network marketing program that I really believe in. So I hope this convinces you I know what I'm talking about.
